I LOVE IT it helps out a lot w/ Science Olympiad (4 middle & high schools) and the vocalizations are great! Go Owls!

Nice video except the Napa feature has repetitive talking heads (not the owls).

I cant believe this was free!!!!!!! Last night around midnight, my husband & I were sitting outside about to go in & I said jokingly " let me call an owl over b4 we go in. I played a 16 second call and b4 it was over AN OWL FLEW UP!!! It landed about 10 ft away from our porch in the spot light and started calling back!!!!! Before we knew it we had owls hooting everywhere!!! If you like interacting with nature this FREE app is for you

This is exactly what I was looking for in an owl app and it was free! I love the vocalizations, Im going to try and call in an owl for my environmental science class project. This proves the "theres an app for that." saying. :)

This free Audubon guide app is a nice-enough teaser for the broader run of Audubon apps, but it apparently does not show off all the features. For example, although the app offers an opportunity to register, and via registration possibility of recording sightings, etc., the app doesnt appear to include that capability. The information and photos are typical of a very basic guide, without great detail or deep levels of information. While a decent freebie, I doubt its an effective representative of the $10-plus paid apps in their library. Caveat emptor? It might just be that one gets what one pays for. Hard to know.

Does not fit with the retina display. Too much redundant info (100mb+ for just the owl family in north america?!)

Dear Santa Claus! Please bring me an app with a Photo Quiz and Audio Quiz like the ones Audubon Owls has, but for all birds. One where I can customize my own quizzes to learn birds Im having trouble with. All the sparrows I dont know, for example. Ill be a good girl all year, I promise! I love this app and love its quizzes! Ill be out tonight, listening for the owls I can now identify!

I realize this is a freebie, but isnt it time to optimize the app for use on an iPad?

Ive downloaded other free informational apps that were shamefully low on info. This app has photos, descriptions and even audio bites of the owls, several for each owl. Really neat.

Finally--Ibe identified the owls in my yard--barred owls. The recordings in the app were spot on. Well done.

If u LOVE owls, get this app!!!!!!! I first loved owls after i watched " Legend of the Guardians". If u want to learn about owls, watch owl videos, hear a barn owl sound like a shopping cart, see owl images, and play owl-themed games and quizzes, THIS is the app for u!!!!!!!!!!

My 8 year old loves it! We use it often in the evenings trying to "call" or stir up the barred owls in our neighborhood. We both have learned a lot about owls with this app and it has inspired us to learn more about all birds.

Needs to be optimized for retina and ipad devices!

Great app. I love owls and all things about them. This app covers North American varieties extremely well. Cant wait to get more apps. And I can share info. Love being able to know much more about the bird I love so much.
